What Is General Surgery ?

General surgery is a unit in which surgical methods covering regional or general problems in the body are applied. Injury and wound treatments are the most important treatments of this unit. In short, general surgery covers quite a wide range of treatments.

General surgeons, on the other hand, are doctors trained in the diagnosis and management of patient care before, during and after surgery. They specialize in subjects such as emergency department, intensive care, immunology, metabolism, nutrition, pathology, physiology, shock and resuscitation, and wound healing.

The surgeon general is trained to provide surgical care to patients. This includes making a diagnosis. General surgery includes:

Acute abdominal pain is the most common emergency that requires surgery, as it has several organs in the abdominal area that can cause pain. Common conditions requiring surgery include diseases such as appendicitis, hernias and gallstones.
